This attribute determines the background colour index to use when
drawing textual strings - the foreground colour is determined by
the Colour(strings) attribute. Standard
X colour names can also be specified, and the nearest colour will be used
if the requested colour is not currently in the palette.
If the value "-1" or "clear" is given, the background
will be transparent.
