Raw data from the telescope probably don't contain a variance array.
The recommended way of getting error information into a file is when the
data are in its earliest stages of reduction, i.e., when de-biasing. The
CCDPACK (see SUN/139) applications
`makebias' and `debias'
will create a variance array in the de-biased data files which Figaro can
use in the remaining stages of reduction.
