Customizing SPECX

You may wish to modify the initialization files:

sys_specx:specx_init.dat is a FORTRAN NAMELIST, and must be present. Change values in it if you wish.
sys_specx:init.spx is the default initialization file. This runs a set of SPECX commands to configure the program, and in particular to assign command names to the set of macros supplied with the program. See the manual for further information on this. This setup file is called by:
specx_local:init.spx, which may be used by your local manager to include often-used local utility macros, symbol definitions, special setup instructions, and so forth.

In order to obtain PostScript hardcopy using my GKS version of the PGPLOT interface, then you need to define the logical name ``PG_POSTSCRIPT". This should point to a .COM file that prints the postscript file passed to it as a parameter (i.e. 'p1') on an appropriate printer (and deletes it afterwards if that's what you want).

Similarly, if using a CANON laser printer, you need to define the logical PG_CANON.

These assignments are most easily made in the file [.LOCAL]SPECXSTART.COM, which is called by the global startup file SYS_SPECX:SPECXSTART.COM -- The appropriate .COM file can conveniently be kept in the [.LOCAL] directory also.
