FIND-SKEWNESS

Finds the moments of the current spectrum, either about the mean of emission or about a nominated zero position. Incidentally reports the integrated intensity and location of the mean. The third moment (here reported as skewness) and fourth moment (kurtosis, a measure of peakiness) are sometimes of use, and are also reported. Only one analysis interval is used.

Relevant flags:
N_INTS I4 Number of intervals to use for analysis.
BLF_INTS R4 Pairs of channels defining spectral intervals to be used for baseline fitting, analysis etc..

Examples:

    >> find-skewness<CR>
    Type intervals, one at a time, CTRL(Z) to finish
    Current units are km/s

    # -10 10<CR>
    Moments about mean? (Y/N) [Y] <CR>
    Integrated profile :   8.1 K-km/s
    Mean position :  9.0 km/s

    Moments of line profile;
    Mu(0) :     1.0 K-km/s  (0)
    Mu(1) :     0.0 K-km/s  (1)
    Mu(2) :   -52.6 K-km/s  (2)
    Skewness :   2.85     Beta1 :  -8.134
    Kurtosis :  -2.31     Beta2 :  -6.933
