FIND-MAXIMUM

Finds the maximum of emission on the current spectrum. Uses a simple routine to interpolate a position from the highest point and the two adjacent points. Works well for smooth, relatively high S/N data, and is not out by more than half a channel even for relatively noisy data. The maximum and the location of the maximum are saved in the scan header.

Examples:

    >> find-maximum<CR>
    Quadrant: 1 Interpolated max.is 3.325 at 5.71km/s
    ..
